Saw this a couple of days ago alright, goodish deal i suppose alright but it wont be a great t,v compared to, say, a full HD samsung 32" you'll get for €400.

()Oh and like i say on any tv related thread, i highly doubt this will have a mpeg4 tuner, which means it wont pick up the Irish DTT thats due to launch in a couple of months

This is a good deal alright at €320 but this, at €401, is a much better buy IMHO

Oh, and the speakers in the tosh wouldnt be great, only 2x6w, :O

I got the 40" version of that (LE40C530) and it is a brilliant tv.

The USB play back feature is fantastic, just plug in an external/portable HDD and watch you videos/music/photo's.

I also got it for the bargain price of €499 a few weeks back :D

It has a big following over on Avforums:

If you buy a new tv without a mpeg 4 tuner could you just get a cheap set top box reciever to get the Irish digital channels when they become available or will the boxes cost alot ???

Yea, you could but indications are those boxes will be 60€ or so, so why not have the convenience of having to use only one remote and only having to plug in one appliance. In this case too, that Samsung is much a better tv in every aspect too..

Yes, but the price differnce between the two is very little. There is also a 32" version.

After a quick search, the cheapster this morning online is pixmania:

    37"
    http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/5293543/art/samsung/le37c530-lcd-television.html

    40"

Don't really want to hijack the thread, so if you have any more questions feel free to use the HE Video Displays & Projectors forum.

Yep - great feature. You can plug in a usb hdd or a memory key and play the files from it. Seems to not play mp4 video though. Grand for avi files. Cant remember if it plays mk4's as I dont tend to use them.

So which would you guys recommend to buy this toshiba or the one in Lidl this week?? I am sick of watchin the 12" portable at this stage(my old tv broke)

PS would you be able to tune sky remote into lidl one?

    cheers

RE the toshiba. I got the 22 inch version of this tv and was setting it up next to an Alba 19inch set i got for my folks last year. Guess what?.....the remote for the toshiba worked on the Alba and vice versa! Not really sure what this means but your gettin a rebadged somethin anyway if you buy the toshiba.

P.S. Happy enough with both tvs anyway

FWIW, ebuyer are doing a full HD LG for £299 and £10 postage to Ireland.

It's FreeviewHD branded so should work fine with Saorview.

I got a 32BV500B, and I can't play any avi files from the usb stick. Can you share one clip that works on yours?
Anyway, it's a good value tv, I would say that the picture quality is above average for this price range. Don't expect any mind-blowing though :)
