3 mornings last year I got up in the middle of the night to go stalking realising I'd forgotten to fuel up night before !!

Have 3 magazines for my Steyr, managed arrive at the hill without one !! Hate getting a lift as there always at least one rolling round the landrover !! Neway made a Heath Robinson one out of a 7up bottle by cutting section out of the middle and pushing it in up to the action, using my black tape to keep it in place. Could feed 3 rounds in the top and loaded beautifully !! Pity never took any pics, but I did get this using said set-up .....

That pic was taken after bout mile walk in warm Sept heat as you can see, was never as glad to see a forest road :)

Taxed the Landrover today so one less thing to worry about :-)

I carried a Gutted fawn like that once, never again. There is still the blood stain on my Hunting Jacket 10 years later :D:D

I would not put any of my hunting Pics on facebook though TF :D

I'm not gonna pretend I'm not a hunter just to please some PC brigade of tree-hugging hippies. Anyone that knows me knows I hunt, anyone elses opinion is irrelevant :D

New addition: Insect repellant. Was having a quick scout about where I'll be tomorrow morning yesterday evening and I was eaten alive. So it's repellant or a flame thrower and a trip to the funny farm. Good luck to everyone for tomorrow morning. I've remembered I've a fair few things to get, so will be a bit busy today.

I was out spraying yesterday evening, in about two minutes I was forced home by midges, they were that quick to cloud up and that bad  Same again this evening I expect, though if the wind keeps up I might get another while at it.

    Go raibh Mile maith agat.

A little bit of poetry for the Hunters tomorrow. Best of luck lads and lassies

The noble stag was pausing now
    Upon the mountain's southern brow,
    Where broad extended, far beneath,
The varied realms of fair Menteith.
With anxious eye he wandered o'er
Mountain and meadow, moss and moor,
And pondered refuge from his toil,
    By far Lochard or Aberfoyle.
But nearer was the copsewood gray
That waved and wept on Loch Achray,
And mingled with the pine-trees blue
On the bold cliffs of Benvenue.
Fresh vigor with the hope returned,
With flying foot the heath he spurned,
    Held westward with unwearied race,
And left behind the panting chase
