Paper stitches / steri-strips not holding

I've had paper stitches applied to a cut on my shin twice now but again they're buckling, this time into the cut by about 3 or 4 mm. I thought stitches were supposed to hold the two sides of skin together rather than just covering them loosely?! It's going to scar I know that but I'd rather not be left with a dent if it can be avoided!

The doc was annoyed that I'd bothered him, and yes it's only a cut but where would be the best sort of place to have it re-done without taking up A&E resources?

    It is what it's.

Jacks roll and sellotape served me well many times when I cut myself on a site.

Just cover the cut in vaseline...I'll give you some...just work around the loose pubic hairs...

Hate to be the one to tell you but that leg's gotta go. Amputate before gangrene sets in.

What like a mix tape? I suppose a few tunes might take his mind off the gangrene setting in...

You're right though...masking tape is great for cuts...

OP you need to get yourself one of those big staplers and a stiff drink and...well you know the rest.

Put super glue on it. Then some masking tape. Then some bog roll and another strip of masking tape.

    You'll be grand.

Burn some rizla papers and rub the ash into the wound.

It will seal perfectly but leave a whiter than normal scar.

    definitely superglue.

    Cool story bro.
This is the new 'WAAAAASSSUUUUUUUUUP!!!' Except it became irritating to the point where you want to punch the person who posted it an awful lot quicker.

OP, if you could get your hands on some white medical tape, you can take a length off, strip it into thin pieces and apply them to the cut. Then get one of those tight, elastic supports and put it over the cut. This should stop the tape from rubbing against clothes or moving at all.
