Dropped phone into the loo!

I had just had a bath and was checking one of my rpg games etc and somehow the phone juggled and fell in to the loo!
I dived in within a 2 secs if even less and retrieved it, it had a plastic type case on it...
problems are, the navi key wont bring me back to the home screen or let me exit any app or phone or whatever i happen to be on.
If I reboot the phone it starts on homedesk and basically whatever I go into I can't get out and this message comes up at times
"you may exp noise caused by cellular interference and a decrease in cellular signal strength"
and also the voice control bit keeps coming up!
a box also comes up lately saying charging is not supported with this accessory but yet I can charge teh phone.
My wifi is working perfectly as are the games when I get into them, it's just getting out of them!
As for the phone use itself, people hear me breaking up, I can't hear them.
I'm hoping whatever moist is left will somehow dry out and hey all will be fine again....but I won't hold my breath, anyone have a similar water experience and was the news bad or good? Remember I had it out of the wate rwithin a second or 2, I tend to think the water got into the headphone socket.
    thanks.

leave it off for a few days anyway, maybe ya get lucky and it will work, there will more than likely be a residue left on components inside so ya might have to open it and clean everything, warranty is gone anyway so nothin to lose

Pack it in rice. Put it in hotpress. Leave for at least 24 hours.

Happened to a friend of mine. Everything came back working except for the back button, in the end she had to replace it. Luckily the insurance covered it.

Take the phone apart as much as poss, the battery out and leave under a strong desk lamp over night to dry out slowly.

Do what Irish suggested and don't keep using the phone for at least 24 hours, I'd personally leave it in rice in the hot press for 48 hours to give it the best chance.

Read somewhere lifehacker I think, turn it off, worst thing you can do is have on or try turn on if it's wet inside, you'll fry it, put it into a bag of dry rice and stick in hotpress for 3 days, the rice will absorb the moisture, can't find the link, sounds plausible tho !!

Ah some one just said, must be true so !!

Whatever you do, don't turn it on any more for several days. That's what will do the damage.
