Want to do it with freeware?

Jasilbroken iPhone not necessary for this one.
I set my wife up on her own laptop to do this at her leisure. She ended up ripping the guts of 40 DVDs in one weekend. Anyway, on to the explanation.
I used AnyDVD and Handbrake. AnyDVD is a paid-for Windows application by Sly-Soft, readily available, & Handbrake is freeware, also readily available.
Install AnyDVD and just let it run in the background. When a DVD is inserted, AnyDVD will do it's thing and allow you to open it with Handbrake. If you are ripping explicitly for the iPhone 4, just select the Apple TV preset option and set destination for the converted movie.
For all reading this, I know there are lots of different ways of going about this, but as I said, i set this up for my wife(who doesn't work with computers everyday) to rip all her own DVDs and it worked like a charm.
