How much do I lose by buying from PC World?

    I need a new laptop.

I don't know enough to draw up my own specs, and tbh, it seems like a lot less hassle to stroll to PC World and buy a premade one in a shop, rather than buy online, particularly as I understand that Dell's quality control has vanished and alienware has been bought out.

Realistically, how much extra will I pay if I just go to a bricks and morter store?

    EDIT: Rough percent obv.

try to stay away from PC world, they are really pushy. why don't you shop around, you don't need to buy online. Heard Dell are gone to crap alright.
What about Harvey Normans, they are great. You are better buying local, so if you have any problems, you have comeback

TBH it varies alot. You can get deals and you can get complete ripoffs in shops, where as online prices balance out more.

PC World, Dixons and Currys are all one now BTW, and all get a mixed reputation around here.

Harvey norman are decent IMO, but I've seen their sales guys talk a load of BS before.

If you post up what you want to do the guys on the forum will give you a spec list and then you can go instore and simply ask them for their best price for that spec.

Whilst I dont usually recommend this I saw a pretty good lenovo laptop in tesco today for about €400.

Alternatively why not post your budget and what you use your laptop for here and someone would prob put a spec on dell's website together for you.
