Hi - Sometimes when i send a text, even with plenty of coverage, my phone seems to send the message, even if it's a short one,as a mms.

I spoke to O2 and they had never heard of this issue and recommended me to bring the phone back to the store.

Has anybody else had this issue?

I noticed I've been charged for sending MMS that I never sent too. I'm with 3.

Are you sending the text to a number of recipients? Iphone may be sending the text as an mms if you are. You can go into settings and turn off mms when sending to multiple recipients.

Were they multiple SMS messages. I remember reading that the iPhone sent multiple SMS messages as mms even without multimedia content.

    EDIT. found link

No, definitely only a short message. I'm amazed O2 never heard of it.

Only thing to do is turn off MMS messaging in your settings. This will not effect you receiving MMS.
