I'm doing a repeat course come september and I won't have to wear a uniform so I'm looking for some staples (big comfy hoodies, tracksuits jeans and the like) that won't break the bank  what do you normally wear to college, do you dress up or keep it casual? Thanks :D

i wear whatever is handy and i feel like wearing!! dont worry about buying stuff specially for college, just wear what you'd usually wear and are comfortable in.

I'm not really a hoody/tracksuit person, unless I'm just lounging around at home or maybe having a bad day. Generally, I'd wear skinny jeans with some sorta nice top, a cardigan or a blazer or maybe a dress. If I was having a 'comfy' day, probably leggings and an over-sized t-shirt. In winter, boots or Converse or brogues and when I can get away with wearing sandals, I do because I love them.

I suppose your best bet on a budget would be Penneys. :)

+1. Never wear trackies unless I'm working out. Dress down days I'll wear jeans and a cute tee, other days the skys the limit! College is one of the few places you can wear whatever you want so why not go mad? ;)

At college I would never in a million years wear a tracksuit!! I either wear skinny jeans and a nice top with cardi or a dress, both with boots or pumps. I will always make an effort with accessories and clothes because it's what I like to do. It really depends on what you feel like. There are people at college who come in every day in tracksuits or people who come in every day in new outfits, it's just up to the individual. Wear what you want to make you happy.

usually just wear jeans with a nice top and trainers (the stylish sort not the "im-going-to-the-gym" sort), if your classes are all over the campus you want your feet to be comfy :).
And I always keep a hair bobbin with me just in case my hair gets in the way, plus if your going to be there late into the evening you never know what might happen to it during the course of the day!

    and a +1 for the penny's suggestion!

Feel free to wear whatever you want in college, you will meet people who like to dress very casual and the exact opposite. Personally I like to look feminine and make an effort,
each to their own, The main thing is that you feel comfortable.

I pretty much lived in jeans and jumpers last year, over the Summer I've gotten really into dresses and skirts so next year will be all about them! Pumps in Autumn/Spring, Biker boots in Winter (once I stock up on tights for the winter!)

    Hi,
It all depends if you want to get laid or not, g-string protruding and tight jeans or baggy pants and a mo-hair jumper.

:mad:Scrappychimow, please, a little decorum. Posts like yours above are unwelcome in this forum. Feel free to add to the discussion but remember that it's all about the clothes.

OP, college is a change to let your hair down - or tie it up - of shave bits of it off. College is the chance to release your inner diva. You can try a multitude of looks and styles in an arena where noone will bat an eyelid. Go and try EVERYTHING. Mix and match. Preppy and leisure. Haute and vintage. Chic and rockabilly. Enjoy!

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

When your just going to class mainly comfort is key, its also important to your concentration. I'm mainly a jeans person with zip up hoodies or cardigans. Everyone just dresses casual/comfortable. especially as you progress through the year people care less about making a fashion statement.

As for bags for college, I found a fab one today in Dunnes! It's a big black pvc bag, with a broadish shoulder strap and a nice tassle on the front of it! It fits a A4 size folder and a 15" laptop so i thought i'd share my find!

Also, it was reduced from 18e to a fiver so i thinks i got a bargain!
