I accepted Architecture at DIT and I just looked online at the timetable. Its only working out at around 17.5 hours a week. And on Thursday it says I only have a one hour class at 1oclock. I must be missing something thought the course was going to be a 30hour week.

9-5 plus over time when your working on projects.

Its worse then a full time job

Exactly - be careful what you wish for; its an intensive course with lectures only forming a fraction of the total workload: there will be plenty of all-nighters ahead. Well done on getting in.

    Your abit eager ;)

Studio never closes if you hide under the table when the locker-upers come

The online timetables for architecture are notoriously unreliable and that appears to show no studio time. In first year you will generally have 1/2 hours of lectures per day and will be in the studio for the rest of the day (in first year it is absolutely possible to leave by about 5 or 6). Tutors will be around 2/3 days a week and one day per week will generally be dedicated to crits.

    Enjoy!

Also I would love to see Shreks (the porter) reaction to finding a hidden architecture student!

Hey guys...I wouldn't read too much into the initial timetables as think they change most years. You will only have a few hours of lectures each week but the rest of your time will be spent working by yourselves in studio (it usually closes by 21:15 or a few minutes later if you get the porters to stand over you waiting while you pack up your stuff ;))

Is it possible to hide? I keep hearing about theses "All-Nighters" but how could they happen if the porters try to lock up so early?

Does anybody know the academic calender for architecture for the year. I presume it's the same as the General calender. I need to know for my lease.
