I've my 3G set to off(to preserve battery life) and I've my wifi set to off(turning it on as I need it. However, I keep getting the same msg on the screen - "mobile data turned off, please turn it on or use wifi to access data.
Anyone know how I can turn this notification off?

i dont think theres much point having 3g off, i have it on all the time aswell as location services and battery lasts a day and a half with a lot of use

Ok, but what if I open an app and it auto connects to 3g network and starts to use data? Thats the main reason why I have it off as I'm not on a data plan yet.

Is there no way to get rid of those notifications though? Surly there is....

It must be some app trying to access data. Not sure how you can find out what, other than trial and error. Do you have push or fetch on for e-mail or the like? It would make sense for apps to detect the data is off and not attempt push or fetch stuff, but things don't always work in a way which makes sense.

I had "push" turned on for my emails, so I just turned that off and I'll see how it goes and let ya know. Cheers.

Make sure you have no "push" or "fetch" alerts turned on for any email accounts.

    Did it fix it?

I still get the odd alert still....only when in an sms message though.

Wonder does anyone else have the same problem as us? If so, any solutions?
