    Nothing new there.
They put a value on the car for year three. You pay the difference between new price & year 3 value over 36 payments.
You then hope the car is worth a few €k more than agreed value at year 3 thereby giving you a deposit on next car & start all over again.

better in the long term with a straight car loan I would have thought.

I think it's a positive sign for the economy/motor industry if people are willing to put GFVs on cars. For the last 18 months dealers have been running screaming from the concept. Only fleet companies were putting RVs in anything.

A couple of years ago, people thought buying was better than PCP because it can be cheaper, but anyone who had a guaranteed future value for their car in the last 4 years could really consider that they dodged a bullet.
