How to identify a BMW with Efficient Dynamics

    Hi all,

A lad I know has a '08 BMW 320d with what I believe is Efficient Dynamics - among other things, the engine cuts out at the lights and starts up again when the clutch is pressed.

IIRC though, there's no external marking on the car to identify it as having this feature.

If you were browsing through cars on the net (Carzone, Autoquake, Autotrader) for example, how would you tell that the car had ED?

    Thanks

Find out the emmissions rating of the car you are interested in & then you will know.
For example, the late 07 onwards bmw 520d with ED had emmissions of 136 approx. The non ED were higher obviously. The BHP also changed on introduction of ED system also.

Easiest way to tell is straight out exhaust on diesels instead of turned down afaik.

True, although it is possible that someone specified a pre-ED car with DPF.
