"Midway" - A new ongoing LARP in Dublin

"The End happened many years ago - outside of living memory; the last great war, the one to end all wars. The cities were destroyed and only a handful in a thousand people survived. The time since has been a time of recovery, of slow rebuilding once the suffering began to ease.

Two settlements - Haven and Erin's Point have found each other and began a
trading relationship, but the route between the two is fraught with danger and is far from safe. And so a small group of pioneers have left Haven and Erin’s Point, arranging to meet together and forge something new - a waypoint of sorts where traders can rest in safety before continuing their journies. There will be hardships and there will be pain - there will be those who will see the new village as a ripe fruit for the picking, and there is always the threat of the environment and disease, not to mention the fact that the alliance between Haven and Erin’s Point is a shaky one. But on the edge of the Green Belt there is profit to be made, a reputation to be generated, a home to be built.

Welcome to Midway. Welcome to the Beginning."

I'd like to announce a new ongoing live-action game that I'll be kicking off this year. It's a hybrid game using both latex weapons and airsoft weapons for combat resolution, and the first two events will run in Dublin in September, on the 3rd and the 24th. We're running at least the first two events at Hit-And-Run Tactical Assault (HRTA) airsoft out in Swords (www.hrta.ie) and we've a good relationship with the folk there.

For more details please go visit our webpage at https://sites.google.com/site/midwaylrp or contact me directly. Our webpage will continue to be updated over the coming fortnight with things like a FAQ, additional rules, location information and directions, and also some dodgy photos of yours truly to suggest costuming ideas.

I'd really love to see you there - this sort of thing succeeds or fails based on the people that attend. If you come along I'll put on the best damned show I can.

This is true i haven't seen either of you guys in donkeys years (or elephant years or giraffe years for that matter either).

I'm big into airsoft at the moment and the idea really does intrigue me. I used to frequent st annes park with the guys from LT the odd time so im def interested.

However i may end up going to next weeks on as i just realized the 24th is the day before my brothers stag.... and im organizing it so 24th is def out for me now. I'll check and see my google calander it tells me what im doing these days if im free im def gonna go k.

Drop me a line if you're interested, so. My email's on the Midway site, as is a link to where we're discussing character ideas and transportation options.

A quick thank you message to everyone that showed up.

You were enthusiastic, energetic, helpful and geneally good humored.

More fun to come on the 24th now we've started to find our Feet :D

Hey all - a quick reminder that the second "Midway" event will run on Friday
the 24th. Our first game ran to a healthy number of people and we hope to
be increasing on that number this time around.

We're making improvements in the game as we go along, both in terms of
rules and in terms of logistics. We've organised a minibus to ferry people out
to Ballyboughal from the city center this time around, and we're constantly
    revising and updating our rules.

You can visit us on the web at https://sites.google.com/site/midwaylrp or
visit our forum at http://www.irishgaming.com/forum - if you're looking to
ask a question, create a character or book a space on the bus, contact me
directly at kshandr (at) gmail (dot) com.

Lastly, we're looking for NPCs for this scenario. If you're thinking of coming
along but aren't sure what you'dm like to play then drop me a line and we'll
    have a chat.

Both I and co-GM-Gogz would love to see you there!
