Does anyone know what the best velux blinds are and where to get em at a good price? I am trying to get info on them as the house I just moved into has velux window in each bedroom and the light coming in is waking me very early every morning so I want to find out how much they are and how hard they are to fit, for my landlord.

    Thanks

I bought some velux blinds in the last few months from Itzala blinds (you can google them). They were delivered to the door and were easy to fit. Now you will need to get the model number(s) off the windows to ensure that you get the right size. They also do their own brand for the same windows.

As regards price they were the best I could get at the time, however there are suppliers closer to home too that were as keen but did not have the blind I wanted. I wanted the exterior 'awning' blind to keep out the summer heat. Also some woddies have velux blinds in the bargin bins, you might be lucky and find one in the right size.

I also believe that Velux themselves are having a sale too.

    i bought my velux from
    http://www.valeblindsdirect.com/
i found them to be the cheapest at the time I was looking, very happy with my blinds (went for the genuine velux), they have a blackout version which is brilliant - also good for retaining heat in room as foil backed.

Got mine off valeblindsdirect.com (UK based, but they deliver to Ireland) decent prices, no problems with the order, etc.
I got the blackout duo blinds, they're fantastic... you want to go to bed at 2pm on a blindingly bright summers day? Close these bad boys and you'll have to turn on a lamp to get from the window to the bed... they're that good.
Pitch darkness when ever you want.
They're not hard to fit either, a few screws go into the inner side of the frame, which secures the rails, and everything else sort of snaps or slides on.

[edit] wow, freaky valeblindsdirect recommendation snap

I've used both www.b4i.ie and Itzala, both pretty good IMO.

Last time I used Itzala, for cheaper blinds for spare rooms, it didn't do official Velux blinds, though it seems to do so now, along with having Irish site (itzala.ie)
