Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We want to put in an oil rayburn and a multi fuel stove. The rayburn will be in the kitchen which has a flat roof, we already have a cylinder and a water tank. We had one guy in who said we need to put in a double coil cylinder (gravity fed) and a new water tank, which is very difficult given the roof space over the cooker is non existant, OR he needs to rip up the floors to run new pipes, I have no idea about this, but is there an easier way to do it which does not involve wrecking my house? thanks

We want to put in an oil rayburn and a multi fuel stove.

Will mfs have a back boiler (bb)?
The rayburn will be in the kitchen which has a flat roof, we already have a cylinder and a water tank.
where is cylinder/tank and how is hw heated at the mo?
We had one guy in who said we need to put in a double coil cylinder (gravity fed)
why double coil unless mfs has bb?
    and a new water tank,
why? Is this a small header tank for the open heating loop from the ratburn or a new cold water storage tank?

The more specific you are with the detail, the better quality replies you will get from the experts here. I am not one:)

MFS will have a back boiler
The cylinder is currently located in the 2 storey part of the house in the attic, and heated by an external oil burner
As 1, the MFS will have a BB
I have no idea about the water tank TBH.

Is the rayburn going to heat the water/ and or rads?
are you keeping the external oil burner that's heating the water?
is the external oil burner system open or closed? ie is there a second small tank in attic or a red pressure cylinder the size of a bifg football in the boiler house?

To be honest it is quite difficult to give an accurate accessment of your situation without a house call. In my opinion you should maybe contact the suppliers of the items you want installed (did you buy them both in the same place?) and ask do they have a list of recommended installers. Get a couple of different quotes in and don't forget to ask for references.
