McDonalds interview

Well, I'm not gonna complain, but McDonalds got back to me today. I've an interview for a part-time job tomorrow. But as I've never had an interview in the food industry before, not sure what to expect? Has anyone ever had an interview for McDonalds? Any tips for what to expect?

Also, should I go in with neat casual clothing? Would imaging a shirt and trousers would be McDonalds attire? :P

Smart casual is what I'd recommend: always dress a bit better than you would for the job. But a suit would be total overkill.

Have examples to show that you're good at teamwork.

You're never over-dressed for an interview. Shirt and tie always, irrespective of the job. Wear a suit or jacket and trousers. It shows respect for the interviewer and the company. Emphasise to them how important you regard Hygiene (in a food environment). Mention any food preparation experience you have. Even if it's only a dinner party you organised for your friends. Smile, plenty of eye contact and ask questions.

Stress your ability to work as part of a team in a fast moving environment. Think of examples you've had of that before in other jobs or school. Also put empahsis on your flexibility- you need to let them know you're available weekends and evenings and daytimes too.

Finally if they offer the job on the phone sometime next week make sure to sing back 'dah dah dah dat daaaaa....I'm lovin' it' :pac:

Well, this is bringing up developments from the interview last week (Tuesday 24th), they said I'd hear back in "3-4 days". I didn't, but I did ring back on Monday out of curiosity. The manager appreciated my call, but apologised as they hadn't decided who they were hiring yet and said they'd be in touch soon.

I still haven't heard. Does anyone think it would sound desperate if I phoned again today? I've had another interview since that I hope to hear from today or tomorrow, but I would like an answer on the McDonalds job before the other interviewer gets in touch.

My advice is to Google HACCP and show up to the interview knowing what it is about and letting them know you know.
