Pipe bender - where to buy?

    Hi,

    I'm looking for a pipe bender for 1/2 and 3/4 copper - any recommendations for a good one and where to buy (in Dublin)

    Probably the best would be Hilmor. You should be able to get one in any Heatmerchants or DPL.

    keep an eye on www.donedeal.ie , a mate of mine got a record bender, 1/2", 3/4" and 1", best, but most expensive make, bout a grand new, he got his for 300 quid. Pulsar do hilmors for bout 600 euro

    If it were me I would certainly look on Ebay - have picked up many a bargain on tools from there over the years.:D

    Most good Plumbers Merchants sell Hilmour benders.
    Last time I looked they were only about 100 euro for a 1/2" and 3/4" unit with formers.

    Fill the pipe with sand and bend it around your Knee

    Thanks folks,

    I picked up a Rothenberger bender in Chadwicks for €100. They didn't have a Hilmor but the Rotherburger seems pretty solid.

    I'm well used to bending copper around my knee, usually with a spring though, even up to 1 inch pipe (after annealing with propane torch) but getting too old for that now hence need for a proper bender!
