When coming to traffic lights by Wilton Shopping Centre, look for pedestrians - the lights change very quickly once the button is pushed.

Know the roundabouts in the area very well.

Watch out for the mini-roundabout by Keary's - it could easily be missed.

The flashing amber lights by Togher Church - give way to traffic on the junction and traffic coming from the right. Even if going straight through, gear down, slow down and look twice.

Don't weave in and out unnecessarily between parked cars in housing estates. If you don't know the area too well, head for places like Summerstown and Bishopscourt and do some reversing/turnabouts. There's a funny corner with a postbox - maybe someone here knows where it is? Summerstown Stores is another one some don't like - was my personal favourite corner!

Remember to smile at your tester. If nothing else, it'll make you feel a bit better.

Watch out for cyclists - some medical/nursing students are back at school and many have bicycles.

Remember the stop line coming out of the test centre. Before the test, try to get space 21. Afterwards, cross your fingers it'll be free. If so, drive forwards into it.

Hope this has been of some help. Best of luck.:)

A bit late posting, hope you passed the test. If not, this may help you or others taking the test. I did my test there yesterday and passed! yipee! my instructor said some testers are getting drivers to do the Bandon Road roundabout. I didn't know this was included, so I practised on it. Also, some testers ask drivers to go out the South Ring road to Togher, so this would be the 3rd exit from the Sarsfield road roundabout. be careful of the traffic lights in Togher- by the garage and church. You'd be thinking it's an ordinary set of lights, but it's also a zebra crossing. Turners Cross is also likely to turn up. Am so relieved it's over. All the hard work paid off!
