The 3810T is a higher spec machine with a core 2 duo processor instead of a celeron processor. Its an extra stg£100. I went for the cheapy cheap option :)

Your first link is to the 3810TZ though, I'm confused?

The 3810TZ is €485 with €60 quid back afterwards from acerdirect.co.uk at the moment, ordered myself one this morning! Great deal in my opinion!

I was going to choose that machine also but the T&C for the £50 cashback states that 'The promotion is open to residents of UK only'. Did you get any assurance that they would extend to the promotion to ROI?

About 3 weeks ago I bought the 3810TZG from LaptopsDirect (same company as AcerDirect) and asked about the cashback. The guy on the phone said it applies to Ireland. It is also written on the Product Q&A page of the 3810TZG http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/Acer_Aspire_Timeline_3810TZG_Laptop_LX.PED02.015/version.asp#top

I sent off everything they asked for (after 14 days as per T&Cs) and received an email saying they were processing my application.

I've bought several (refurbished) netbooks from them and never had any problems with the orders or the goods.

Some people have.. some people haven't!

I've just heard much more of the latter.

That's out of stock, they won't ship over here and that model refurbished isn't worth £549!

I've a similar model that I bought over 3 years ago with a GB of ram for €899. They're taking the piss with that price.

For those looking for something that has a little more bite than a netbook and a larger screen but with similar weight and battery life, the 3810TZ at €430 (after cb) is a steal.

    Id highly recommend it.

TheBlackBuck, any news about cashback from acer?!!!

I bought the same like you, and i send the documents back for cashback and nothing...no e-mail, no cashback no nothing.

Yeah, I got an email a few weeks after I sent (by registered post) the invoice and form back to say they were processing my application and to wait another few weeks. A couple of weeks later I noticed they had credited £100 (sterling) to my account as I had paid by card. They had pretty awkward and precise terms so make sure you fulfilled all of them.

Just to note this is the 2nd laptop I've bought off them and I've had no problems with either. The first laptop also had some kind of cashback deal which they honoured by cheque.
