Tir Na gCapall rumours.

So i accepted my place in GMIT today along with a few of my mates. We all decided to stay in Tir Na gCapall because there is 9 of us which would hopefully make it 3 of us per flat. We were told that it would be possible.

After searching some reviews however, i am not too convinced it is a good option at all. Some of the reviews and boards.ie posts were fairly old but all warned against the place, so i am wondering if it has improved.

Should I avoid it like the plague or is it really all just rumours and there isnt actually much wrong with the place.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've never heard anything bad about it, only that it's quite far from the college (30 mins walk)... through Castlepark.

I lived there in first year, wouldn't go back.. ESB bills do be through the roof we hardly used the heating, unpluged when we werent there and still had to pay the last to months ourselfs outside of what had been paid at the start for the year the fire alarms were constantly going off, the lock on our front door broke and it took them a month to fix it, our water didnt work in the kitchen/sitting room they never fixed that. I can't remember anything else right now but yea I didn't like it. :(

I lived there for a year. Agreed, ESB bills were expensive. The random checks were a bit annoying as well on a friday morning when you're still in bed although the blonde doing them was alright! Kitchen/Living area is very small. The en suite bathrooms are handy but if you have your 9 mates in your apartment then they will all have to use your bathroom.
