Bluetooth in a car

Hello, I recently bought a 2005 Audi A3 SE TDI 2 litre diesel 3 door

    All going fine with it

I was messsing around with bluetooth on my phone yesterday and it was in discovery mode and to my pleasant surprise, it found a bluetooth device "audi uhv 0285"

So paired it up and all working ok and the word "phone" appears on the radio display when connected.

I do not have a fancy radio in my car, i.e I do nt have a bi screen or anything like that. Just a basic enough radio and there is no option/setting as far as I know of bluetooth via the radio menu.

I rang a couple of people and they said I sounded ok, I was looking around for a Microphone but could not see any obvious one, so maybe when I am on a call its going through the actual microphone on the phone

anyone have any idea where the microphone would be located in an Audi bluetooth setup, if any ??

You have a factory fit bluetooth kit so I would say the mic is fitted in the console around the interior light on the roof.

Yes it was fitted the day the car was built. Thats about a 300 euro option when ordering..;)

    right, thanks

Actually now that I think of it, the car does not have a regular aerial, it has one of them "fins" which I think may be for bluetooth

No. That has nothing to do with bluetooth. Its probabaly a dummy or its for sat-nav. Radio aerial is built in also to the car. Sounds like a sexy A3 op...

It does not have sat nav so it must be a dummy.
