Not sure should I have set up a new thread here or thrown it into the current thread in the broadcasting section. I figured as it applied to Sky and Sky only it should probably go in here.

Anyway, I went to check did I have access to Sky Sports News today after seeing an ad on Sky News the other day saying that it will be leaving freeview in the U.K on the 23rd, and from the 23rd will be included with all Sky Packages. Surely enough when I went to check it, I could view it. :)

Anyone know if it's the same on a 'Freesat From Sky' card?

(In case anyone is wondering I've got the 'Entertainment', 'Kids' & 'Music' mixes.)

You don't have Freeview. Freeview is not a Sky product. You do have a Sky product. That's why you still have SSN.

SSN is included with the sports pack, and the news & entertainment pack.

Freeview is a different UK product altogether, and totally separate to sky.

No, as I said, 'leaving Freeview in the UK'. I know I can't get Freeview over here.

But as I was saying, I never had it before today as I don't have the News & Events or Sports Package. Then today, I was able to view it.

Is it gone FTV or is it only available with a subscription?

SSN is leaving Freeview today, whether it's a Sky product or not. What the OP is saying is that he doesn't have either a sports pack or the news & entertainment pack but is still able to watch SSN.

EDIT: You got there before me.

Sky Sports News is included with all sky packages until February 23rd.
After that, it moves to the News & Events mix or Sky Sports premium package only, as mentioned in the above sticky.

Are you having a bad day today ?

The forum mod posted directions that that "All further discussion of Sky Sports News is to be in the below thread" - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showt...p?t=2055986865

The OP had noted there was a thread in broadcasting and the OP did wonder if this thread subject matter should be posted in there. I was merely pointing to the correct thread for posting of the subject matter as per the mods directions, The OP may have missed the sticky .

It hasn't been so bad. Thank you for asking though.
