Using Old Sky + Box

    Hi,

I am getting sky again after being on UPC for a while. Will be getting Sky +HD in one room and standard box in the other room. However, I do have an old Sky + box. If I use that in the second room will I be able to pause/record there also or do I need a second Sky + subscription? That room only has one cable at the moment. Do I need two or is that just for recording multiple channels?

Also, the old dish and wires are still there from the old installation. I'm getting a new dish but can I use the same wiring or ask for new ones to be run? Happy to leave them there if it will not impact signal quality.

    Thanks.

You should use your sky+ box in the 2nd room. Ask Sky to activate the + function on that box. They should do it free. Keep the standard box as a free to air box in another room and you will have a system you friends will envy. As regards using the old dish & cables, you should get new cabling & dish. Its free, so why not avail of it.
