I don't have a HD box, I've just got the standard SKY+ box with 37" widescreen tv, but it seems the new settings for SSN (Ch 405) have resulted in the text on the right hand side of the screen being approx 60% off screen. Very annoying.

Is there anything I can do ?

Is your Sky box setup to display widescreen pictures?

I will help you but your post is very annoying and let me expain why.

You have your Sky box set to 4.3 regular picture wide channels are chopped off on either side.

On your tv you just strech all the channels and everybody looks fat I bet your RTE is the same?

Now here is the way to fix it set your TV to auto and channels that are not
wide will have black bars either side the proper way.

Go into settings on your Sky box and set it to 16.9 in picture settings.
Channels that are wide will use up these black bar areas on your screen.

It is annoying because he has his tv like this.

    Not like this

I have tried to explain this to people but they don't care must pubs have it set the wrong way too.

Watching stretchy vision as I call it is annoying.

Sky Sports News has just gone widescreen a major improvement.
The original poster calls it very annoying.

Edit it brings a smile to my face that people debate the picture quality between Sky and UPC yet most people have their settings
wrong with the picture stretched and RGB mode not enabled.

    However my posts do.

If the OP reads my posts his problem is solved.

Thanks for answering my question Ranicand and for posting the youtube link.

I'm not sure, however, why you had to go into how annoying the question was ? Why not just report to the mods, or do as I do, ignore any posts that annoy ?

    Thanks Minstrel27.

All I'm getting is ''no satellite signal being received''. The SD version is running okay.

    Thanks Minstrel27.

Thanks and it was not your post that was annoying I find it annoying that so many people still have their tvs set up with the sides chopped off.

Hate watching football in a pub for this reason.:)

    cheers, thanks.

By the way, it seems that the problem isn't fixed until "Second Location Picture Format" is set to 16:9 also. At least that's what I found.
