    Hi,

I recently got a Samsung tv with Mpeg4 tuner. I have an attic aerial and have been getting a good DTT signal 70% (from Spur Hill) with no pixelation. This morning when I turned on the tv I got a "weak or no signal" message. When I looked at the signal strength it was jumping between 0% and 70%. Is this normal? It probably the first windy weather we've got since I got the tv. Would a plug in signal booster help?

    Thanks,
    Seán

Thanks for the response. It's a relief to hear that others are experiencing the same signal issues from Spur hill. I was a little concerned that might current setup mightn't be suitable. :)

Maybe something is moving in the direction of your aerial that is fine if stationery but blocks when moved about by the wind? A tree (or trees) is a possible culprit.

While I don't have direct line of sight of the aerial on spur hill I am living on a hill in an estate. There are no tree(s) for some distance in front of the house in the direction of the mast.

The signal strength seem to have improved now @ 80%. Previously it was about 70% Every 10 - 15 seconds it suddenly drops to 0% and back to 80% after a second or so. While I haven't attempted to time the signal drop appear periodic so I think testing sound like the most likely scenario at the moment.

Also it was still the same this morning though there isn't much wind.

    Thanks for your suggestion though.
