    Hey,

I'm going to be in Canada on holidays soon and found a really good deal on a laptop I've had my eye on for a while now, but I was wondering if anyone else here had experience with bringing back Laptops from Canada (or America) and what to expect with customs?

There's also a possible issue that the laptop comes with a free xbox 360, not quite sure what's the best way to bring that back yet... may just give/sell it to a relation when I'm there, but if I do bring it back and I get stopped by customs would I have to pay tax on it despite getting it free from the shop? (I'd probably get a receipt showing it's free aswell)

Oh also the laptops value in euro is about 1160

The XBox360 would probably be included in the total €1160 charge as far as customs are concerned.
For information on how much you should pay, see http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs/leaflets/pn1878a.html. €1160 is well over €430, so you will have to pay a good bit, assuming of course you are honest. Remember that the cost of your plane ticket needs to be included when calculating the amount to pay as well, as that counts as "carriage" costs.
