Am currently looking for a good pea coat for the winter months. Missed out on the very nice Tommy Hilfiger one in the sales (which I can't find cheap anywhere anymore) and now looking for a similar basic version. I'd love to get a WWI version, but these can only be found in the States and with shipping etc it'd cost too much.

    So far best candidate it:

    Brooker Pea Coat

However, not sure of the materials or cut. Anyway have any suggestions for around the €100 mark?

Thanks. There is one there quite similar to what I'm looking for, but I'm after more of a traditional cut. Thanks again.

Don't know where you're located, but you could try some army surplus stores? I don't know if they'll have pea coats definitely, but they might! There's one off Capel St in Dublin.

Thanks Twee, the army surplus stores tend to sell reproductions, but yes, as you said they're an option.

quick update. I gave up on the idea of a pea coat after trying on a few different styles and realised they don't really suit me, however, if anyone else is looking TK Maxx actually have a few different ones at the mo

With my silloette a pea coat would look stunningly ugly. even thigh length coats are a bit blurghhh. Last year, after many years of searching I finally tracked down a shin length overcoat.
Peacoats are not for everyone. What have you decided to try Harry?

I already have 2 Duffle coats, but they're a bit big for me and heavier and warmer than I like (plus they're a PITA to sit down in, on the bus or whatever), so right now I'm not sure. I'm a fan of wool (especially in rain or snow, weight increase), but may go a lighter coat and concentrate on waterproofness, rather than warmth. Can always layer up underneath.

one of the mens outfitters in the Dawson Street/Nassau Street area had a really nice two piece mack lastyear. The heavy quilted lining was detachable giving you that lovely 3 seasons coat and the centre vent of a mack makes sitting not such a PITA. :)

TK Maxx actually had some great Carhartt work wear coats in, HUGE and very warm, but very awkward to move around in. I may go for something less formal than the pea coat, I usually wear Vans and jeans, but something that could fit both worlds would be great. Character from White Collar wore a nice smart casual jacket in last episode of Season so might rewatch, take notes and see if I can find anything similar.
