Car Insurance Increase, is this alowed??

    My car insurance last year was 860 euro im now been quoted 1380 euro is thia allowed by the way i have the same car no penalty points nothing has changed ,

    no claims either

    can i report this to the Ombusman any clues

    I may be wrong but as far as I remember they can charge you anything they want for it.

    That's why it's advised to shop around first.

    The cost of insurance has gone up across the board due to numerous factors, recession, bad winter, more claims.

    It has nothing to do with the ombudsman.

    Shop around and see if you can get a better deal with a different insurance company.

    all of the above plus greedy insurance companies looking to make even bigger profits and using the above reasons as an excuse to raise premiums.

    Thats a pretty significant increase tbf; most people who have seen an increase seems to be less than €100. The first thing I would be asking is for them to explain why it has taken such a jump; it could be an administrative error or something.
