Get a bowl of rice (uncooked) and put desire into it, stick in hot press for a day or so

Rice works best. Just don't use anything like a hair dryer as that will cause more damage.

The rice method has been tested and proven on numerous occasions. It's pretty much the best possible solution for the average person. It soaks up the moisture and gradually dries the phone/mp3 player/camera etc. I'd also imagine putting it over a fire would just spit roast the phone and would do more damage to the circuitry inside!

Id even leave it 2 days to be sure. Your haste could cause damage.

Put it in to a bowl of rice , and place into the hotpress for a day

Remove and Stir and place back into the hotpress for a further day .

Remove from hotpress and leave to stand for another day.

yeah, dont do a rush job, the phone might work now but any remaining moisture will continue to rust the components and it might stop working in a few weeks. I learned the hard way.

And finally, serve with a tasty sauce of your choosing.

    Here's one I made earlier.

Not sure this will help much, but a few years back a certain monst...errr, child of mine placed my P990 in the washing powder drawer in the washing machine, just after the wife had put a wash on, so it went through a lot of water and suds, with the phone initially powered on.

I found the phone hours later and needed it badly because of a trip a few hours later. I took it apart, washed the suds away, gently blow dried it and rebuilt it. To my surprise, it switched on and worked for another two years until I retired it, while still working well.

I would be worried about any water that entered the case and may not evaporate easily. If warranty was not a concern, I would consider opening it up.
