Not sure if it's worthy of a thread ,but noticed in my local xtravision artane ,dublin . A lot of blu rays for less than a tenner.
One that I thought was great value was hellboy for 7.99 ,looks brilliant on blu-ray.

Boxsets that came to mind were House seasons for €10 ,which I consider good value because they're great to have.

Got the Mother in Law that LEWIS one, 13 discs, in mint condition, and picked myself up Battlestar Galactica Season 4, 10 FOR BOTH, now THAT is a bargain ;)

I don't think so ,there were other boxsets a lot more expensive. They happen to be beside the blu-ray section ,so I could be mistaken.:o

Alot of Blu-Ray movies on amazon.co.uk are around the £7/8 mark (works out to around €10/11 after VAT + Delivery)

Got The Shawshank Redemption and Reservoir Dogs for €10.50 each last week, ordered Friday night and arrived Monday lunch time :D

Order £20 worth (3 Blu-Rays) and get free shipping.)

Must check out Xtravision for the boxsets, assuming they are to but and new.

Xtravision are having a clearout nationwide. It looks like it's mostly ex-rental dvds.

Popped into Swords branch earlier, picked up KickAss for €10. Grab Torino was down at 14.99 (or 2 for 25), asked the guy to check price as some1 on boards got it for €3 so het let me have it for that

I'm looking to get my hands on both. How much did they cost you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,882 ✭✭✭johndoe99

Alien Anthology cost me €60 and Back to The Future cost me €50. But they've gone down in price now, about €10 off each.

I bought them in Xtravision at the time of release (had to have them specially ordered in as my branch didn't do bluray boxsets), but have seen them reduced in Golden Discs. I see your from dublin so HMV might have them much cheaper.

Alien Anthology is around €34 delivered from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alien-Anthology-Blu-ray-Sigourney-Weaver/dp/B003AQBYUG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293749362&sr=8-1

I think it's been reduced in store in hmv as well, somewhere between €35 and €45 iirc

Back to the Future bluray can be had for about €32 delivered on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Back-Future-Trilogy-Blu-ray-Michael/dp/B003AQCV08/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1293749482&sr=1-1

They had it down to €30 in hmv for a while but it was back up to €50 last i checked.

Thanks for the info. I was going to buy it in HMV today. About a week ago they were going for €35, but this must have been a mistake on their part, because they've upped the price to €60.

HMV banged their prices back up, so I'm setting for Amazon now. Thanks guys. ;)

Xtra-vision in Galway has a rubbish sale. Not a single bargin as far as I could see. The Blu-ray selection was rubbish too.

totally agree with you. They have huge posters up stating 70% off, but when you get close to the posters they have the words "Up To" real small.

And the 70% off is on titles you practically could not give away.

Cheapest blurays I could see in artane were €7 (were €10) and they were crap.

This is obviously just a clearance sale for ex-rental dvd's.
