Points Q

I've applied for 2 courses in DIT.
I have have gotten 15 points over my first choice.
And 60 over my second choice.
I will most likely miss out on my first choice but can the points really go up as high as 60+?
Has there being any instances in the past of them going up this drastically in the past?

    Thanks

Don't dismiss your first choice, you've still got a good chance of getting it!

If the demand is there, it can certainly happen.

To jump over 60 is fairly rare though. However, I do recall a friend I know who wanted a physics course in Trinity which jumped 85 points or something crazy like that.

I'll try to find the jump I'm referring to but I wouldn't worry about it too much, a jump of that magnitude is rare enough.

Theoretical Physics (TR 035) jumped from 440 in 2003 to 520 in 2004.

What course is it? And how many points was it last year?
I know Science in UCD jumped by about 80 points last year, i think? correct me if i'm wrong someone sorry!
I would say you're pretty good to go though, 60 points ahead of what it was last year, pretty good place to be in my opinion! Wish i was the same as you!

I would be mildly surprised if points for computer science went up at all tbh. Unless I'm mistaken, points for CS have been decreasing over the past half decade?
