If your landlord doesn't have private parking spaces for you, you can change your tax and insurance to your new address and apply for residents parking off the council (can take a while to get).... but in the meantime you can either:
    • Risk it (Mardyke is pretty safe from the meter maids, up around Connaught Ave. is the worst).
    • Park across from the Park & Walk by Dennehys Cross (free parking in those yellow lines) but those are taken quickly and people sometimes leave their cars there for the week.
    • Get up every morning before 8.30 and drive to the Park & Walk, go to college and drive home after 6.30 and park on the street.

I think they've extended the disk parking to 8.30pm the money hungry whores.

OP you should be entitled to residence parking

Is the Park and ride the only free parking around UCC so?
Is there any car park near by?

Well theres a few car parks (One by Hayfield Manor on College Road, Gaol's Walk, etc) but car parks usually(read: always) charge. Free parking across the road from the Park & Walk (only room for about 10 cars though) and some closely guarded secret ones in local housing estates.... probably not legal though.

Get residents parking though, just go to the ASA Office (No. 6 - next to daybreak) and they'll give you a residents parking form.

I think the same goes to Brookfield car park after 5pm and Dennys x (free all day up to 10pm Monday to Friday)... I cant think of anywhere else...

If you are entitled to resident's permits, be quick to the chase. They usually only grant a max of two per residence, which obviously leads to problems if there are five drivers in the house!

Nope not for Brookfield anymore. Think it has a flat €2 charge after 7.30 though.
