Read all your messages. There is a big chance that I`m going to move to Dublin in a few months (working on the details). Big obstacle of course is leaving my friends behind (moving from the Netherlands to Dublin) and therefore I was also looking for tips and places to meet people. Joining a sports club, doing some sort of voluntary work, a creative course, were things I also thought about.

A friend who moved within the Netherlands mentioned that she joined a (Dutch) website called `meeting new people`. People can join, post activities (movies, going to music festivals, just name it) and other members can sign up for these activities. I don`t know if something similar exists in Ireland?

I'm not aware of one....unless you wanted to go to some of the boardsie beers which happen relatively frequently!to be honest, I think joining a sports club or a volunteer organisation etc is a better, less artificial way to meet new people! :)

Think you'd get better advice on the dublin forum, just post in the thread regarding the area you are moving to. Of course there are boards meets, check the local papers and library pin boards for any local classes or meets.
