We use Matabi Supergreen 16 sprayers, mostly because that's what's available locally. Got two, one for spraying dip, one for herbicides.

Hi John, sorry to go off topic. Do you spray dip instead of dipping?? With only 10 ewes this year, it wasn't worth my while emptying the tank so I put on the dip with the power washer. Do you think that spraying it on is as good of job as dipping? How often during the summer would you spray them??

Oh no, we dip as well. We spray dip at shearing time, give the lambs especially a good soaking with it. It's not near as good IMO, but, it's better than nothing.

    Thanks.

As i said, with only 10 ewes, its not worth emptying the dipping tank. I'm just keeping a close eye on them for maggots, but none so far thank god. I'll probably do them every 3 or 4 weeks with the power washer just to be safe.

We've a Berthoud. I find it good, never gave trouble (so far anyway;)). Use it for spraying roundup to cleanup the yard etc.

They make tractor sprayers aswel, and have a good name

Do ye not use Clik, or Vector or one of those 'pour-on' type jobs? As far as I remember, they are supposed to keep away flies for up to 16 weeks, altho there is a long withdrawal on em.
We used to spray 'dip' with the knapsack sprayer (or budget as we called it) But the new pour on jobs seem to work fairly well... so we dont bother anymore...

Just wondering is there a reason you dont use them?
