Peugeot 306 won't start?

Recently bought a 99 Peugeot 306 1.4 Petrol and can't get it to start. When I turn the key in the ignition all the lights on dashboard light up but won't start, I can still open/close the electric windows.

I got the OH to try jump start it today, got it started but I cut out reversing out of space and couldn't get it going again, tried jump starting it again but nothing.

Will probably buy a new battery tomorrow to see if that's the problem.(hopefully it's something simple like that!)

    Any one any ideas?

    Cheers

Do you hear a click when you operate the key at the start position or not?

I'll get a new one tomorrow, will be happy if that's all it is.

Should also check the connections on the starter/solenoid to make sure they are ok just to rule them out aswell. If the lights are coming on it might not be the battery.Best to get the battery checked first before replacing it.
