Am just wondering if anyone has ever used interstate tyres before. They budget tyres for E60 for my passat and am just wondering if they are worth using.

A new tyre shop has opened up in Ballina, Co. Mayo. Just popped into them recently for a price for 205 60 15, and said that they were 55 or 60 euro, cant remember which. They are worth buying so??

After quick google, they seem to have really "good" traction on wet:

I wouldn't recommend budget tyres. They did pretty poorly in that tyrereview link too.

:D a score of 0.3 as against 3.0 for the Pirelli's. You'd have better traction in the wet (or dry) with bare rims.

they are one of the best tyres on the market due to quality and price , why pay for top brands when you can get a tyre as good for alot less , i got a set for my bmw at the new tyre centre on the behy rd , and i done some research on the net before i purchased , well tested tyre , aa traction , temp a , and i had a top brand name on before that , and id never go and pay big money again for top brands !!!

    lol

"Loweset fuel consumption but the worst wet and poor dry performance"

You'd nearly swear you were selling them or something!

I'd have a read of the tyre review's in any of the car mag's. Budget tryes usually under perform in some way or another. You get what you pay for. IMO it's worth spending a bit more for a good brand of tyre, particularly if you value your safety.

It's also worth shopping around for your tyres as prices can vary between branches of the same vendor. East coast tyre's in Ardee are typically good value, if you are anywhere near them.

Im Amazed at the poor tyre review of Interstate,, genuinely ... on that site,,,, I do sell them but not trying to create a tyre sales pitch here , Just sharing my experience,i have them on our own car and the other mechanic has them on wifes car and hand on heart i have to say one of the best budget tyres i have come across, contrary to poor wet performance whilst this is only my opinion i think they have as good a grip as the bridgestones i had on the car last both in wet and dry, and very quiet (low roadnoise) I have done my fair bit of rallying and i understand a decent bit about roadgrip and these are miles away from regular chinese dirt nankangs, wanli, goodride kingstar etc

just my opinions not to sell the brand but just to give my tuppence worth from someone who has actually used them and been very happy not because they are cheap but decent quality for the money,

Not sure about mileage yet, have them only on car a few months, been told 25 to 30 k but have no real proof of that yet ......
