Hi I'm doing repeats there next week. In my course it says you need over 30% in each exam, 40% average and 50 credits over 40%.

So far i passed 45 credits over 40%, passed one 5 credit by compensation and have 2 exams to repeat. So do I have to pass both outright or could I pass one by compensation if I get over 30%. It doesnt really mention anything specific to Autumn repeats on the UCC website. Do I have to get over 40% in both?

    Thanks.

AFAIK compensation does apply in the repeats, so as long as you pass one and get over 30% in the other I think you'll be fine.

I'm not definite but that's the way I think it works.

Email your head of dept to check before you do it maybe? At least you'd be 100% sure then heading into the exams. Good luck with them!

thanks :). nah I wont bother I'd probably do worse if I was sure I just need the 30% haha. I was just getting paranoid but i think they should be ok.

Hey I'm repeating two first year law modules this summer... If I pass one and get over 30 in the other will I be allowed compensate?

You can only get the maximum of 40% in each of the exams you repeat. I think there is a minimum of 30% to pass in one module where you can compensate that way I think but you need to get more than 30% in your other modules. Think that's how it goes. Best of luck in your exams!
