    its looking that way alright.
when is the next round of temp. leasing
there are 200 suppliers, between them they are 8 million gls over their quota
a hefty super levy bill next year will put a serious halt to a lot of lads expansion plans.
there is still a load of lads feeding meal and heading over quota and there will be a good few more heifers calving in, in the spring

what way are other people looking, we are looking at 10 - 15,000 gls over next march if no action is taken, may be a shade more, depending how final scan goes next month:eek:

well i am 20 cows down on last year and cant afford to buy in at the minute so i will be offering some for temporary leasing  first time ever , cows are milking well but i cant justify firing a load of meal into them at the minute , when the autumn calvers get going then i will push them hard

ya can send some of that quota down this side of the pale.
hopefully premier suppliers wont be hit as bad when the time comes;)

Dont worry. Kerry 47 million litres under. Thats nearly 11million gallons at the end of last month. If there is a superlevy theres at least 6 million of that for fleximilk and thats assuming not only an indian summer but near saharan weather till christmas. I think quota over in kerry but not betting on it. Growth good here but a lot of heavy land can do without water for a month or two. But that only part of the overall problem. average of last 2 years still only 26c. 30 again next year leaves only 27 c average. I dont think i will buy my hideaway in the bahamas just yet! Talk here is about a drop before year end:mad:

trust me , thier will be no one fined a cent regardless of what happends , europe is always under quota this past number of years and even we,re over , the rest of europe will balance us out

unfortunately the quota situation in Europe dose not reflect on the quota situation in the particular country, un less they change euro policy re quota
if Europe is under and Ireland is over there is still a super levy in Ireland

This is really depressing - especcially when one sees the amount of milk coming into the Republic from NI:(

used to be something like €1.50 to €1.60 ( per gallon)

and has anyone been penalised in the last few years - well i know the country was under last year , but before that ?

there was a super levy year about 5 -6 years back. off the top of my head i think the fine was 0.28 c/l, could be wrong though.
we got stung for the march milk cheque and a bit. seriously bad buzz
