As the title says just had hair cut by a hairdresser, had explained what I wanted but ended up with what I think he thought was going to be an elfin crop like Emma Watsons. Instead I look like an ugly boy (I'm a girl) or spock from star trek. Anoyone any ideas how I can hide my hair? Especially indoors at work, its an open plan office so everyone is going to see it, my self esteem has hit rock bottom. I know it will grow back but need to hide it until then, Anyone else have a similar experience? Can you wear a hat indoors without looking worse?

Did you tell them you were unhappy with it, and it wasn't what you wanted, when you were in there? If you did, most places would fix it free of charge. I know you can't magically make it longer but they would have shaped it better.

There's no real way to hide hair except for with a hat or you could clip it all back

How about a headscarf. Either that or ask the hairdresser to fix it.
You should also ask others for their opinion. Maybe they won't think it's so bad.

i guarantee that every girl in your office, or bloke who has a mother/sister/girlfriend has a 'disaster hairdresser' story, so dont feel so bad - if word gets around that you not happy, only the worst b!tch in the office will make you feel bad about it. chances are you will get loads of sympathy and hear a few similar stories.

to disguise it, well it depends on the dress code of your office, if its suity type, then probably not, but if you can wear jeans etc then a few scarves/bandannas might do the trick.

would a different colour change it, muss it up with a bit of gel, make it a bit funky help any?
i got a disaster 'pudding bowl' in my twenties, but i put a deep red into it, and by the time i styled it up a bit, it was actually all right. or go to another hairdresser and ask them to help you come up with ideas to syle it so its not so bad?

i have actually had plenty of disasters - so i really feel for you , but your best approach is to laugh it off at work.

Ah you poor thing. Well, there are some lovely headbands/hairbands in the shops at the moment with fabric flowers and feather decorations on them....you could experiment with a few of those to create a more feminine look....they are not expensive, Pennys have lots.

The hairdresser sounds like a dope btw, I hope your hair will grow back quickly.

I have had this happen myself, just keep saying to yourself, hair grows!

Berets are great in the situation it shows alittle hair at the front and the back is practically hidden, try not to worry.

You are probably so used to a certain haircut that you wern't expecting this extreme.

    Remember hair grows!

Oh dear OP..I feel your pain I think everybody has had a disastrous haircut, I once had my really long hair cut into a bob and I felt like Dora the Explorer! Kept it tied up for about 6 months until it got back to past shoulder length! Maybe go for a more dramatic colour so it looks like you are making a bold statement with your hair rather than you just had an unfortunate haircut! When I had the awful bob I went really light blonde (I'm naturally dark blonde) to try and make it look edgy and people seemed to like it! What colour is it at the moment?
