    what would be cost of replacing a fuel injector? approx?

    hi,

    are you sure you need new injectors.
    You should get a second opinion.
    I was told the same, but it turned out I was being shafted, and the pipes were loosened.
    Don't always accept the first diagnosis!

    Who loosened the pipes? The dealer? That's criminal!

    Also, about the Audi.
    Would be handy to know what engine, fuel type, bhp, etc...
    I'm sure Audi made more that one type of engine for those...

    If it's a diesel, take the car to a bosch specialist. They can usually repair the injectors on that vintage Audi be fitting new nozzles and setting the opening pressures. They will be far cheaper than going to a main dealer.

    what engine?
    prices from 60 up to almost 600 for diesel needle lift type and that ex vat and fitting

    its a 2001 1.9 tdi

    going to a main dealer on monday. local guy not able to do it and had no idea of cost

    Why not try to find a bosch specialist, as shamwari said?
