    Sold my first item there last nite; I've received fund into my paypal account to the amount of the the bid; I'd listed the postage as being €7 so would I be correct in thinking its the winning bid + 7?

    Sounds like you didn't list the postage correctly in the auction, otherwise it would be included in the money you received. You may have to take the hit on that if you set up the listing wrongly.

    Go to the paid eBay item and click on ' view order details ' - check if the total there is equal to your Paypal payment , and check to see if it includes the postage / shipping and handling charge of € 7

    Following on from this; postal order or bank draft - which is more secure?

    Actually may give the full story on this one;

    Sold an item that was listed as being payable by Paypal only. Winning bidder contacts me a day after the Auction saying he/she doesn't have a Paypal Account but can pay by Bank Draft/Postal Order.

    I messaged back saying ok, I'll take postal order but I've since had a chat with ebay live support who have told me I can file a cancel transaction request which if granted ebay credit me with the winning bid and I get to relist - if I'd known that I'd wouldn't have offered the Postal Order. Am I wanked on that count - can I go back and say eh no thanks to your Postal Order actually?

    Btw; it really seems to good to be true and seriously open to scamming if I'm reading the way I think I am - ebay give me the money I should have got and I then get to sell it again?!

    Cheers for any insight into this.

    eBay give you nothing. They credit you back the listing fee and final valuation fee, that's all.

    A PO from within Ireland takes up to a week to clear properly, if it's from a foreign country, then it could take a month. Taking a PO is very dangerous for the seller, this is how most scams are carried out (fake or stolen cheques and postal orders).

    Fook, knew it was too good to be true.

    Outside of Paypal what's the best payment type?

    Cheers for your help on this jor el, much appreciated. :)

    Cash, always the best. Bank transfer is an easy way of getting cash, as is Western Union. Never pay with WU though, way to dangerous for the buyer. Cheques and POs are notorious, and 99 times out of a hundred it's a scam.
