    Hi,
Just have a problem with a dishwasher at home the water is not heating but the washer is working otherwise. We opened it up to see if it was the element was cooked.I disconnected the element to test it with a meter on continuity and was getting continuity and a reading of 30ohms would this be right? Also we found we are getting 50volts at the element terminals when the washer powerd on and not 230 that it is rated at?any ideas or solutions would be great thanks. its a zanussi jetsystem progress zsf 6161

From what you've said, it's not your element at fault.

The typical element is 2000W which would have a calculated resistance of (Voltage squared divided by Watts) of 26.45 Ohms which is close enough to your measurement.

You need to find out why you're only getting 50Volts across it, possibly a bad connection or relay. (could be part of the program module, I'm not familiar with those dishwashers)
