As the title says i need a new electric razor.Up until now i was using manual razors and foam, however my skin on my neck seems to be irritated by this so a electric one would be best to solve the problem. If anyone has had similar problems id like to know how they solved it.Im looking for a decent electric razor.nothing too expensive but something that will do the job right for my skin yet is still affordable.

What makes you think an electric razor is the solution to your problem?

    Hi Fol 20,

i picked up one of these in Harvey Norman for a 10'er during the week, gives a close shave!
    http://www.very.co.uk/dual-track-rotary-shaver-r91/734070624.prd

i also used to get some irritation on my neck from wet shaving and switched to shaving with an electric hair clippers, just use the zero blade i.e. nothing connected...doing this stopped me getting irritated..to be honest its not as close a shave but i prefer it that way..

    e.g.
    http://www.marbeck.com/remington_hair_clipper_hc-912.html
get a cordless one and your sorted...very fast for shaving and the battery only need to be charged every few weeks!

I'd suggest taking a look at safety razors, I previously tried electric and mach3 etc and the results were awful with any foam, gel or cartridge razor I tried.....that is until I tried a safety razor

Like others here, I would strongly urge you to stick to wet shaving. You would be better off with shaving soap, a brush and a double-edge blade. If you change to that system you will never look back. I did it and I know.

But even if you stay with a multi-blade and foam there are things you can do. First of all, don't over-shave. Let the blade glide over your skin, don't drag it. Don't shave more than twice; once with the grain, then across it; and lather well in between. Second, try to pull the skin tight (not taut) before you draw the blade over it.

Panasonic wet and dry shaver - use it wet with gel or foam. With the right technique you will get a close shave and are unlikely to suffer irritation.

I used to get very red and itchy after shaving, even with an electric razor. I got one of these and have had no problems since. I got it for around €110 brand new on ebay. Well worth it to cut out the itching.
