Orton's Temper...

.....could it be a major road-block for new WWE superstars?

Exhibit A! 30th May, 2009 : After a ~more dangerous?~ back body drop, Orton badmouths Kennedy backstage to McMahon and whoever would listen that he isn't safe and is injury prone. Mr. Kennedy is fired 4 days later. (It's also worth noting that apparently Cena also badmouthed Kennedy)

Exhibit B! 13th December, 2009 : Orton kills off Kofi's push at TLC last year with a morbidly decisive win, despite months of pushing Kofi (previously including Team Kofi defeating Team Orton the month prior). Combine that with Orton flipping out/verbally admonishing Kofi in their match (with Cena on Jan 11th 2010 RAW) and Kofi was banished back to mid-card, where he has remained since.

Exhibit C! Orton was visibly pissed at Miz for making his RKO (26th July RAW) look 'too obvious'. It makes you wonder if their crap match on RAW (Aug 2nd) was hurt because of ill-feelings.

Anyway, it's obvious that Orton's temper is really out of control, and is seemingly always aimed at those trying to make a push for the main event. Any thoughts?

I noticed that too. I think it's more unprofessional of Orton than of Kennedy, Kofi or Miz the way he flips out during a match. I'm sure everyones made a mistake in the ring but the way Orton deals with it is too over the top. Rather than have a quiet word with them afterwards Orton lets his feeling be known straight away and going off to management like that is just being a d!ck.

it always seemed to me that orton just has a horrible temper and lets it get the better of him which i think helped in getting kennedy fired but i remember reading that a lot of the main eventers kennedy worked with criticised his work

Just out of curiousity what did The Miz do wrong to piss Orton off?

those blue links are youtube links to videos of the matches! Orton was pissed of the way Miz was standing, he said it looked 'too obvious' that he was gonna get RKO'ed.

I dunno, only on re-watching is it slightly more evident. But the bigger point is Orton flipping out/bitching about it. Blown way out of proportion.

he does have a hell of a temper, but he appears to be more of a perfectionist. He always seems to want to have everything perfect.

while he didnt help kennedy keep his job, kennedy did a lot of damage to himself by telling the press he didnt do drugs etc, then getting "wellnessed", not once, but twice!

Iv met kennedy, great guy, he really comes across as a fan of wrestling, but his mouth never helped him

Funny thing is that they're mostly things people wouldn't notice at all if he didn't throw a fit about it. He's an unprofessional twat who completely killed any momentum poor Kofi had built up through their feud. Though I hate most things about Orton to be honest.

It's a fine line between being a perfectionist and being just bad tempered and I think Randy is edging closer to the bad tempered side. If someone does a move which puts him in danger then he has every right to complain. That's putting his career and livelihood on the line. But if someone starts complaining about silly things like a guy being in position for a move then it's just a bit much.

However, one of the things that Randy has going for him that a lot of the WWE guys don't is the intensity that he shows. He just needs to make sure he doesn't go overboard with it.

Before reading this thread I had just assumed it was part of his mentally unstable constipated face gimmick but clearly not!

Reading through the thread, I was going to!

I remember it was the day of Foleys book signing in easons, someone told him about it and his response was at first suprised but then he admitted it wasn't much of a shock.

Reminds me of Shawn in the mid 90s - he seems to be quite insecure of any of these guys possibly eclipsing him one day!

On a side note - I just watched a clip of Michaels' ultra exagerated selling of Hogan's offensive in their Summerslam 2005 match. According to Powerslam, it stemmed from Hogan not being willing to job to Michaels and Michaels exacting his revenge thus.

That was hilarious and Hogan deserved it to be honest.

As for Orton, it's so unprofessional of him, there was nothing wrong with the way The Miz was standing. To me he was leaning forward in anticipation of the ref giving him the go ahead to jump on Sheamus. It had nothing to do with positioning himself for an RKO.

I recall Hogan proudly watching the HBK match in an episode of "Hogan Knows Best" so he must not have got the gag.

I didnt notice it at the time either, only watched it again cos it was mentioned here, it was hilarious. at the time i thought Shawn had been acclaimed for pulling a decent match from Terry
