Syncing iPhone to iTouch library

I'm thinking of buying an iPhone. I've had the iTouch for nearly a year now and love it. The only thing it's missing is the camera. I've heard the one on the iPhone isn't great but still it's a camera.

My question is that if I bought an iPhone would it sync to my current iTouch library? I'm thinking it might because the iTouch synced to my old iPod library.
