Go into my computer>C:\ drive and users folder>username, right click on my documents, clock properties, in the security tab here click advanced, make sure your user name has "full control", in this dialog again click advanced, click on the owner tab, choose your username and choose change ownership, apply all see how it goes :)

Can you elaborate on how it won't let you "apply anything"? Do you see an error message?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

like yer man said above.. change the security settins to my user having full control.. when i select that.. at the end it has: ok, cancel, apply.. yeno when changin settings u have to apply them.. wel this button is shaded out so i cant press it..

If 'Apply' is shaded out, it means that the changes you've made have already been applied.

Could you double-check to make sure whether you can or cannot read and write files inside your Documents folder?

its not applied because the setting thats on it now says everyone.. but the type is denied.. and underneath it says <my name> user and the type is allow with full control.. i cant apply that or any other setting.. i can get into my documents.. its just when im in my documents it wont let me in my music, pictures and other folders..

Okay. From what I remember, denying access takes priority over allowing access. So deselect 'Allow' and 'Deny' for all the permissions for 'Everyone'.

As well as that, take permissions again as yoyo described above, but check 'Replace owner on subcontainers and objects' as well.

Try doing the permissions in safe mode under "Administrator" user
