    Hi

I would like to know is it possible get a SEAI compliant Gas back boiler?

I have a gas back boiler at the moment and plumbers seem to want to do lots of pipe work instead of putting in a new version of what I have.

I would like to get the grant from the SEAI for a new boiler.

I looked on the web but it seems most new boilers are wall mounted.

Does anybody know of a modern high efficiency gas back boiler ?

    thanks

Baxi do a condensing version of the Bermuda back boiler. Don't forget, chimney would need to be relined. This could cost up to €600 for the liner.

There is a lot of work in putting in the new condensing model ,the condense is pumped through a flexible pipe from the boiler.

The fire that comes with it is a dimplex front ,you cannot get a gas front. This to me is the real dealbreaker with this boiler ,the fronts that come with it are those holigram type:(
The boilers are an outrageous price aswell.

yoshytoshy do you know if it is possible to get the water to go up the chimney as well via a pump or whatever? It is going to be difficult to fine a place to place to let the water drain to otherwise. THe house is a two story.

It has to go to foul drain or a french drain ,most appropriate route would be chased behind skirting board and get outside.
I only got a run down on the boiler at baxis training centre. I've not installed one of those boilers yet.

There is a lot of work as I've said ,I'm almost certain the price of the boiler and parts is close to three thousand.

If your in a semi ,maybe consider installing a wall hung boiler in the attic. Or if it's a terrace ,you could also try and go out through the roof and run your condense into soil stack outside the house.
