[How To Flash] a Custom HD2 ROM

[First of this is not my work and all the original developers is taken from XDA and ported here and linked]

So starting off you must have 50%+ battery life on your Leo.

As well if you don't want to loose data do an active sync with your PC and back up any data that you need cause it will be all gone!!

FLASH HARDSPL (REQUIRED!! DO THIS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE)

1. Download HardSPL package from *HERE* and extract to an empty folder

2. Sync Phone with PC in Windows Mobile!!! It has to be connected to active sync or Windows Media Device Center via USB cable

3. Run HSPL3_PKG.exe from your PC

4. Click next in the HardSPL program

5. The program will now check the USB connection and enter boot-loader screen (tri colour)

6. Select 2.08.HSPL for HardSPL and click NEXT.

7. When its finished the HardSPL program will pop up a box saying "Successfully Done" and the phone will reboot.

8. Click OK to end the program.

9. Congrats, you just flashed HardSPL.

*Go into BootLoader Mode (turn off phone, then press and hold the VOLUME DOWN then Press and hold the POWER button. After about 3 seconds the tri-coloured screen should appear). Verify the screen shows the SPL or HardSPL you installed*

DOWNLOAD AND FLASH

NOTE: Check the Roms Thread for any specific Flashing instructions. If there aren't any then you can use the following guide.

Flashing Via Active Sync

1. Download your preferred Rom from the LEO Rom Development Page and unzip/unrar it to your computer

2. REMOVE microSD card

3. Turn phone back on and wait until it syncs with your PC

4a. If your Rom is a .exe (customRUU.exe is already included in the Rom file) then run the file

4b. If your Rom is a .nbh file then run the CustomRUU.exe from the Roms Folder (if one isn't included then download it *HERE*)

5. Follow onscreen instructions to set up your New Rom

7. Perform a Hard Reset to clear any leftover data from your previous ROM

Most new ROM's required a Radio Update!! Having the latest one should do the trick

Flashing a Radio is the same as flashing a rom. your put the downloaded radio file in the same folder with the customRUU.exe (make sure the ROM file ending in .nbh or .exe isn't there or it will get mixed up!)

TASK29 FORMATTING YOUR HD2

This is very important as over time deleted/corrupted file get left over somewhere on the disk making it slow and experience of freezes and random slowdowns. Use this tool to wipe your HD2.

To use it connect HD2 to the pc via active sync.

Run Task29 application...this will take you into the boot-loader and a new radio will start flashing...you can change the radio in the folder with any you like...preferably i recommend the newer one in the post above...

So in active sync start your downloaded Task29

It will go into bootloader and start flashing the new radio...

once it reaches 100% keep an eye on it that once the screen blacks out press the volume down button to enter the bootloader screen (otherwise you will enter the boot screen but it wont boot anything cause the HD2 has nothing on it anymore!! if you do miss it just take out the battery and hold the volume down button while turning on the device)

once you enter bootloader it should show usb at the bottom of the screen (give it a few secs to connect to PC) continue with repeating the step above on how to flash your rom

Task29 with Radio_2.08.50.05 OK for most ROM's

its small in size and stylish with the minimal essentials and all the bloatware deleted.

also including the latest hot fixes
