    Hi All

I'm planning to go for hollidays to Jordan.
And have 2 questions. if anybody knows where I can by JOD in Ireland ? I don't need much just 50 for the Visa.
And secondly can I use Laser Card in ATM or shops overthere or they accept only credit cards?

I do not think Laser Card would work in Jordan, Big shops would accept Visa but I recommend to use Cash......If you need more information about Jordan PM me...enjoy

heading to jordan myself for about 7 days later in the year. was thinking of spending two full days in petra, leave on the 3rd day and spend days 3 - 6/7 in amman. I was on the visit jordan website and plan on doing a few day trips based in amman. Is this enough? any recommendations?

The best place to look for weird currencies is the airport foreign exchange. The exchange rate for JOD to EUR is very near 1 and the few things I bought there, I just paid in Euro. I was only there for the day to visit Petra.

    Hi ideo,

I spent about 7 days in Jordan last year.
Started off with a day trip around the Amman area. I'm not sure if there would be much to see/do in Amman for 3 or 4 full days. In my opinion it's just another city, 2 days should be enough.

I hired a taxi for a day trip. Only cost about 25 or 30 euro if i remember correctly. Took in Bethany beyond the Jordan, Mount Nebo, and Amman beach for a swim float in the Dead Sea.

Then hired a taxi the next day and drove to Petra. Got a 3 day ticket and spent 2.5 days there.
Then headed to Aqaba to chillout for 2 days before heading back. Stayed at the Kempinski - Easily the best hotel i have ever visted.

Outside of Aqaba (about 30mins) is Wadi Rum and there is excellent diving in Aqaba as well.
