Hey, so I'm pretty much guaranteed to be going to Galway to do arts as I got 460:D.
But because I am a big fool deep down, I haven't done a thing about accommodation. I now fear everywhere will be full and I'll be living in a box, or worse still, with relatives..
    I need some advice!!

Well, I know my talents will be wasted in arts, but your advice was most helpful.

    Hi OP,

Have you tried the NUIG Accomodation webpage:
    http://www.nuigalway.ie/accommodation_office/

It has listings for student and private residences and digs.
You could also try the galway advertiser and galway independent newspapers.
Daft.ie is worth a look aswell.

    Good luck!

Daft,Galway advertiser (the website is updated daily),myhome.ie and easyroommate.ie are only some of the sites which list sharing accommodation in Galway. Alternatively, many of the noticeboards around campus will be advertising accommodation too.If I were you I'd start looking for something ASAP as the CAO offers of Monday will cause mayhem

don't worry about not getting accommodation. i didn't look til after the CAO offers last year. it's a renter's market now. there's plenty of choice.

    Galway Advertiser
    Daft.ie
    Student Acc. Forum
there's accommodation listings also on the NUIG website.

just don't take the first house you see. you can bargain with the landlord as well. he/she will be happy just to fill the house. it depends on whether you want to live with friends or are going to galway on your own. if on your own, make sure that you just rent a room, not the house as you prob don't want the responsibility of looking for tenants yourself. if the house is up for rent but you just want a room, tell the landlord this. don't be afraid to get what you want. :)

EDIT: it also depends on what type of accommodation you want. do you want to live in digs/house/student accommodation?
